PERAN PENDIDIKAN ORANG TUA DALAM MEMBENTUK KELUARGA SAKINAH MAWADAH DAN RAHMAH

Abstract

This study was conducted to emphasize the importance of parental education as the fundamental basis for establishing a sakinah, mawadah, and rahmah family. The research aimed to identify the forms and implementation of parental education in instilling Islamic values, examine the factors that influence its success, and analyze its impact on family harmony and communication. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation involving families who have been married for more than five years and consistently apply Islamic values in their daily lives. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model to obtain a comprehensive understanding of parental education patterns within the household. The findings indicated that parental education is manifested through shared religious practices, moral and social education, as well as exemplary behavior and speech. The factors influencing its success include religious understanding, educational background, marital harmony, social environment, and the family’s economic condition. The research revealed how consistent parental education practices shape more harmonious, communicative, and value-oriented family dynamics. The results further highlight the need to strengthen the role of parents as primary educators so that the values instilled can effectively shape the character and spiritual atmosphere of the household.
