ANALISIS PENGGUNAAN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE SEBAGAI SUMBER BELAJAR SISWA MATERI PAI DI SMA TERPADU MATHLA’UL ANWAR BOJONG

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is growing rapidly in the field of education. However, its application in the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subject creates a critical gap between the ease of instant information access and the need for authoritative source validation. This research is highly important to uncover the impact of AI technology utilization, not only from the cognitive aspect but also regarding the formation of morals and Islamic character. The objective of this study is to analyze the use of AI as a learning resource for PAI at SMA Terpadu Mathla’ul Anwar Bojong. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The novelty of this research lies in the critical analysis of generative AI usage within an integrated school ecosystem that combines a general curriculum with Islamic boarding school (pesantren) values. The results indicate that AI is predominantly utilized as a supplementary chatbot that effectively simplifies abstract materials and provides a psychologically safe space, thereby enhancing student learning motivation. Nevertheless, there are serious challenges in the form of risks of inaccurate information, cognitive laziness, and the loss of clear academic references due to weak digital literacy. As a policy implication, teachers are demanded to transform into moral guides, and educational institutions are urged to promptly formulate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) regarding the ethics of using AI to safeguard academic integrity.
